The Van Bekkum Award is the most prestigious EBMT award for the best abstract submitted to the physician's programme and is selected by the EBMT Board. The winning abstract will be presented as at the Opening Session on Sunday, 21 March 2010. The Award of 3000€ is supported by the EBMT.

This award is presented to the best basic science abstract submitted to the physicians programme, whcih has been selected by a Scientific Committee headed by the Chairs of the EBMT Developmental Committee, Katarina Le Blanc and Wim Fibbe. The aim of the award is to increase the level of basic science at the meeting and to encourage young investigators to submit their work to the EBMT Congress.
The prize-winning abstract will be presented as part of the prestigious Presidential Symposium on Monday, 22 March 2010. This year's prize of 2000€ is genrously supported by an educational grant from Genzyme Europe B.V

The EBMT is delighted to host the presentation of the first edition of the Jon J van Rood Award at the annual congress in Vienna.
This prestigious new award is given for outstanding contributions in the field of immunogenetics and immunology of allogeneic haematopoietic transplantation.
The award is organised by Prof Hans-Jochem Kolb (Munich, Germany) and the selection is carried out by a distinguished International panel under the supervision of Prof J.J. van Rood himself. Papers published or accepted for publication in 2009 were evaluated for the 2010 award and the panel was made-up of the following experts: D. Charron, H. Einsele, F. Falkenburg, E. Goulmy, H.J. Kolb, A. Madrigal, S. Marsh, D. Niederwieser and A. Velardi.

The EBMT Nurses Group is pleased to announce that 4 prizes will be awarded as part of the 26th Meeting of the EBMT Nurses Group in Vienna. The prize winning abstracts will be selected by an appointed committee of the Nurses Group and will be awarded during the Nurses Closing Session on Wednesday, 24 March 2010 commencing at 11:00h.
