Welcome Reception at the premises of the Byzantine Museum

Join us for this prestigious event at the Museum of Byzantine Culture. Opened in 1994 the building is the work of the architect Kyriakos Krokos and is regarded as the finest example of public architecture seen in Greece in recent decades.

The permanent exhibition occupies 11 galleries and is organised by period and subject. The displayed items come mainly from northern Greece and from Thessaloniki in particular and present aspects of the art and culture of Byzantium.

Two galleries are devoted to the display of the private collections of Dimitrios Ikonomopoulos and Dori Papastratou, which have been donated to the museum.
We invite you to this historical venue, to have a drink and a snack followed by a walk through the museum.

The museum is only a couple of steps away from the conference centre.
