Welcome Reception

Wednesday, 9 September 2009, 19:30–22:30 (door opening 19.15)

The official Welcome Reception will be held at the Tonhalle in Düsseldorf. More than 200 concerts with more than 220,000 spectators per year make the “Music Planetarium” a splendid cultural forum and a place to meet people. Over the years, two things in particular have remained unchanged: the large range and the frequent euphorically celebrated discoveries in Germany’s most beautiful concert venue.

All participants and accompanying persons are invited to attend. At 20.15 the chamber orchestra consisting of musicians of the popular Düsseldorfer Symphoniker will play different compositions from Händel and Mendelssohn (approx. 45 minutes). After the concert, different culinary surprises are awaiting you in the historical building of the Tonhalle Düsseldorf.

Charity Football Match

On behalf of the German MS society DMSG a charity football match will take place between MS-physicians / scientists and Bayer Pharma representatives.

Delegates interested in this Charity Football Match need to make their own way to the Sportzentrum Nord. There will not be any shuttle bus service.

Conference Dinner

The official Conference Dinner will be held at the Lofthaus in Düsseldorf-Reisholz. The location is an old factory site which has been newly renovated. It combines the charm of the industrial architecture with modern elements. The hall was built around the turn of the century and is styled completely in white.

Enjoy a remarkable evening under the theme “Heinrich-Heine” with a delicious dinner and the special Metamagicum show which immerge into the world of science and conjuring. A jazz trio will accompany you throughout the evening.

Transfer buses

20:00 Various transfer buses for the Lofthaus will leave from different keypoints and hotels. Bus schedules are available at the “Secretariat” and “Tours” counter on-site.

Please note that we do not recommend using public transportation to get to the Lofthaus as the journey will take approximately 50–60 minutes.
