CME Accreditation / Certificates

General Remarks

The CME accreditation is valid for the main congress programme and the teaching courses only and does not cover the companysponsored satellite symposia.

Europe

The 5th Joint Triennial Congress of ECTRIMS and ACTRIMS is accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide the CME activity for medical specialists, as listed below.
The EACCME is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), www.uems.net.
The 5th Joint Triennial Congress of ECTRIMS and ACTRIMS is designated for a maximum of (or “for up to”) 21 hours of European external CME credits. Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

United States

EACCME credits are recognized by the American Medical Association towards the Physician’s Recognition Award (PRA). To convert EACCME credits to AMA PRA category 1 credits, contact the AMA (www.ama-assn.org).

Italy

Serono Symposia International Foundation (http://www.seronosymposia.org) has submitted, in compliance with the procedures indicated by the Italian Ministry of Health, the main congress programme including the teaching courses of this event no. 15353–11017863 (physicians), no. 15353-11017864 (nurses), no. 15353-11017865 (neuro-physiopathology technicians) entitled “5th Joint Triennial Congress of the European and Americas Committees for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ECTRIMS and ACTRIMS)” (Amsterdam, the Netherlands, 19 – 22 October 2011) for accreditation by the Italian Ministry of Health.

The CME accreditation is valid for the main congress programme only and does not cover the company-sponsored symposia.

ISO 9001 Certification:
Serono Symposia International Foundation has received the ISO 9001 Certification of Quality Management Systems. This Quality certification requires all participants to fill in a scientific questionnaire and to evaluate the overall quality of the event. Questionnaires will be distributed on-site during the congress.

Certificates

Certificates of attendance indicating the CME credits are available as from Friday, 19 October 2011, in the afternoon. They can be printed from self-service stations in the pre-registration area, using the barcode printed on your name badge.
Changes of certificates due to incorrect submission of names and/or address will be charged € 10.

Italian delegates need to fill out the evaluation form at the pre-registration desk in order to receive their CME credits. The CME certificate will be sent after the congress.
