*** The accompanying person(s) registration fee entitles to the participation
at the Opening Ceremony and Welcome Reception on May 9, 2001 and free
access to the industrial exhibition during the congress.
The fee for active participants includes unlimited access
to all lectures and sessions, one copy of the final programme and one
copy of the abstract book.
Lunch
Lunch (not included in the registration fee) will be available at the Congress
Centre (EICC) or in the restaurants in the surrounding area.
Confirmation
Upon receipt of the correct registration fee, each participant will receive
a confirmation of registration. Please bring this confirmation to the
registration desk at the Conference Centre as proof of your registration.
Cancellation /
Refund Policy
Refund of registration fees, less 25% administrative charges, can be applied
for in writing until April 2, 2001 to the Administrative Secretariat in
Basel / Switzerland. After this date no refund will be possible. For any
change of names, a fee of EUR 30.– will be charged.
Final Programme
The final programme is available on the Internet http://www.akm.ch/efim2001.
The final programme booklet will be distributed at the congress in Edinburgh.
CME Credits
Latvia
The Board of the Latvian Society of Internal Medicine has decided to acknowledge
8 CME credits for each full working day in international congresses of
internal medicine. 24 CME credits for EFIM 3 in total.
Lithuania
All European congresses should be approved for Continuing Medical Education:
18 CME credits for EFIM 3.
Netherlands
18 hours will be accredited for EFIM 3 (total hours of Scientific programme,
minus breaks and lunches).
United
Kingdom
The congress is approved for continuing professional development by the
medical Royal Colleges in the UK: 18 CPD credits
ACP-ASIM
The congress is endorsed by the ACP-ASIM.
American College of Physicians (ACP) and American Society of Internal
Medicine (ASIM).
Abstracts
All accepted abstracts will be published in a special issue of the European
Journal of Internal Medicine available during the congress. One free copy
is included in the registration fee.
Exhibition
An exhibition of the latest technical equipment and pharmaceutical
products will take place in the immediate vicinity of the lecture halls.
Congress Secretariat
All documents including registration packets (congress wallet, personal
name badge, abstract book, vouchers) will be handed over to the registered
participants during the following opening hours:

Responsibility
The participant acknowledges that he/she has no right to lodge damage
claims against the organisers should the holding of the congress be hindered
or prevented by unexpected political or economic events or generally by
force majeure, or should the non-appearance of speakers or other reasons
necessitate programme changes.With registration, the participant accepts
this proviso.
