Practical Course on LVRS and BLVR

The selection of patients, identification of “target areas” and the choice of best methods are key issues in LVR and requires an expert team with a multidisciplinary thinking. The selection starts with recruiting the right candidate in terms of pulmonary function as well as cardiac function, assessment of emphysema morphology, and its consequences for treatment. Furthermore the translation into the adequate treatment with identification of the site and amount of volume which needs to be reduced requires experience and should be done on a personalized manner. Multiple practical details have to apply for a successful treatment. The operation needs several tactical decisions and a rigorous aftercare is essential for good outcome.

The afternoon prior to the symposium, we offer a practical course on LVRS and BLVR.  Participants will face an extraordinary afternoon with case presentations and life operations with video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) LVRS.
Please register until Tuesday, 20 January 2019 in order to benefit from the reduced registration fee.

This course will be held at the UniversitätsSpital, Zurich on Thursday January 31st, 2019 from 1pm to 5pm. Participation fee: 200 CHF including food & beverage
