Travel to and within Lisbon
If you are coming by plane
Portela International Airport (LIS) is located 7 kilometres north of the city centre. Regular Aerobus services (No. 91) link the airport to downtown Lisbon (every 20 minutes from 07.00 to 21.00). The ticket may be purchased from the driver upon boarding the bus. A ticket costs € 3.50. The Lisboa Convention Centre is located close to the city centre, and about 20 minutes from the airport. As there is no direct bus connection to the Meeting venue, we advise delegates to go to the city centre first or to take a taxi. The subway station near the Lisboa Convention Centre is Cais do Sodré. From there, please take bus 14, 28 or the tram 15E to get to the venue. Taxi service is available outside the terminal. A regular taxi ride to the Lisboa Convention Centre will cost you around € 15 (+ extra charge for luggage). We recommend buying a taxi voucher from the Turismo de Lisboa counter in the terminal building in order to make sure to pay a fixed price. Car hire is also available, with major car rental companies operating booths.
By metro
The nearest metro stops to the Meeting venue are Cais do Sodré and Alcântara (15 minutes walk to the Meeting venue).

By bus / tram 15 to Algés / Praça da Figueira, tram 28 to Portela / Restelo, bus line 56 to Olaias / Praça das Indústrias or bus line 727 to Restelo / Est. Roma-Areeiro.

Through the North, motorway A2 (Lisboa-Albufeira) connects to the Spanish A49 to Sevilla, Spain via A22 (Lagos-Vila Real). Through the South, motorway A23 (Torres Novas-Guarda) connects Lisbon to A1 and to the Spanish A62 to Burgos, via A25 (Aveiro-Vilar Formoso), also through the East.

Two major train stations serve central Lisbon: Santa Apolónia and Orient Station. From both stations to the Meeting venue and hotels there are the following choices: metro, regular bus lines and taxi (about € 5, plus luggage tax).
Taxi service
To reach attractions outside the city centre or to get around late at night (after 1 o’clock in the morning when the metro closes), take a taxi. We encourage attendees to agree the fare with the driver before embarking on their journey. Teletaxis: +351 218 111 100; Autocoope: +351 218 111 100.

The city of Lisbon has excellent infrastructure and offers inexpensive public transport facilities that service all areas of the city. The fastest way to get around is by metro, it has four lines (A – D), runs regularly, and covers most of the city. The Lisbon Metro rides costs € 0.65 for a one-way ticket and € 1.05 for a return trip, with opening times from 06:30 to 01:00 daily. There is no direct metro connection to the airport.
