Guidelines for preparation and submission of abstracts
- Abstracts may only be submitted via internet. Abstracts submitted by fax or email will not be accepted.
- All abstracts must be submitted and presented in English. Please use UK English spelling and have your abstract proofread for grammar and understanding.
- Abstracts should contain only original material not published elsewhere prior to 9 June 2012.
- Please structure your abstract using the following headings:
- Objectives
- Methods
- Results
- Conclusion
- All abbreviations must be defined the first time they appear in your text. Example: Ataxia telangiectasia (AT), before being used as an abbreviation only. Do not define or use abbreviations in the title.
- Avoid complex mathematical formulae. For the symbols = or =, type instead <= or >=. For superscript use caret (^) e.g. 10^6 instead of 106. Avoid Greek letters and symbols. Instead of “IFN-ß” use for example “IFN-beta”.
- Tables, charts or other graphics may not be included and will be deleted by the editors.
- Abstracts may not be longer than 2500 characters including spaces (excluding title and authors)
- Authors should indicate their presentation preference:
- poster presentation only
- oral or poster presentation

If you do not receive a confirmation by e-mail please contact the Abstract Hotline (check your email address!). If a presenting author withdraws an abstract after 27 March 2012, or does not attend the session for which he or she has been scheduled, a penalty may incur prohibiting the author from presenting papers at the ENS meetings for a period of 3 years. Those subject to this penalty will be informed in writing. - If your research has been granted any commercial or institutional support, you will be asked to disclose this during the submission process.
