The European Association of Young Neurologists and Trainees (EAYNT) is delighted to announce the Young Neurologist Visit to the Charles University of Prague during the 22nd Meeting of the ENS.
Young doctors hospital visit and dinner on Sunday, 10 June 2012 – an EAYNT initiative
The visit is scheduled on Sunday, 10 June 2012 at the Department of Neurology at the 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University of Prague, by the kind invitation of ENS Executive Committee member, Prof. Evzen Ruzicka. Local resident Dr. Pavlína Zborníková and her colleagues will not only give an overview on residency training in the Czech Republic, but also present recent clinical and scientific highlights from the department. Moreover, they will report on the work-flow and diagnostic approaches for acute neurological disorders at their hospital, and guide visitors through its well-reputed movement disorders clinic. To follow, in a typical Czech restaurant participants will enjoy specialties and beverages while they renew old friendships and meet new colleagues from all over the world.
Registration is possible exclusively via the EAYNT Hompage www.eaynt.org on a first-come-first served basis. Early registration is highly recommended, given the experience of recent years. The hospital visit will be free of charge; expenses in the restaurant need to be covered individually by participants. Special Session ENS – EAYNT
Monday, 11 June 2012, 12.15 – 13.15
Translational medicine is a rapidly emerging discipline focused on bridging technologies and discoveries in the laboratory with clinical research and practice. A large number of recent developments show the growing influence of translational medicine across academia and industry. Successful translational approaches need individuals with the capacity to envisage the whole process from “bench-to-bedside”. This workshop aims at illustrating the attractiveness of translational neurology as a career prospect for junior neurologists. Based on their own expertise, the speakers will highlight potential avenues for junior colleagues in the field of sleep medicine, autonomic nervous system disorders, stroke and CNS infections.
