The FIDIC 2012 Conference offers an exciting and varied social programme which allows you an insight into the Korean culture and traditions. Seoul, the capital of Korea for over 600 years, is a vibrant and modern metropolis where the tradition and cutting-edge co-exist side by side in perfect harmony. With one foot in the past and another in the future, Seoul boasts its cultural properties, including five major palaces and over 100 museums, among them the National Museum and the National Folk Museum.

Sunday, 9 September 2012 – Welcome Reception

The Welcome Reception will start at 18.30 in the Grand Ballroom of the Grand Intercontinental Hotel Seoul Parnas (521 Teheran-Ro, Gangnam-Gu, Seoul 135 – 732). The Grand Intercontinental can be reached on foot from the Coex Convention & Exhibition Center (approx.10 minutes on foot).

Monday, 10 September 2012 – Local Colour Night (optional)

The optional Local Colour Night will take place at the National Museum where you can explore the essence of Korean arts and culture.
Buses leave from the conference centre between 17.45 – 18.15. The first bus going back to the conference centre is scheduled for 21.00, the last for 21.30.

Wednesday, 12 September 2012 – Gala Dinner

The closing Gala Dinner, featuring entertainment and live music, will take place in the Vista Hall of the Sheraton Grande Walkerhill, which is surrounded by the beautiful Mount Achasan and overlooks the Han River.
There will be shuttle buses from the conference centre between 17.30 –18.00 and back from Sheraton Grande Walkerhill from 22.00.
